Not Your Box Standard Business Coach
I’m on a mission to guide and support service oriented business owners and entrepreneurs in their ongoing effort to gain the freedom and choice that comes with having a highly profitable, fulfilling and well-oiled business.
Too many skilled and heart-centred entrepreneurs give up their dreams and settle for something less. Running a business can be the most rewarding thing a person can do. I’m determined to show as many people as possible how to get real about business and reap the rewards.
How I Found My Calling
Some people go day by day stuck in a job they barely tolerate through outside influences and circumstances. Their job is a means to an end. They have no passion or desire for what they do and would readily give it up if they could find something better and if only someone one give them a break. Not so with me. I didn’t always know I’d become a coach, but I have spent my entire career doing the thing I love best… supporting people and finding ways to help them grow.
I began delivering training at the age of 15 when I taught first aid in the St John Ambulance Brigade. My career started in adult social care services supporting people with learning disabilities. I cut my teeth in management when I managed a community support resource centre and then went on to manage the corporate learning and development service for the second largest local authority in the country. I learned how to get the most of people, solve problems, manage projects and deliver high quality service in an ever changing environment. When I look back though, I realise it was my early career in social care that really shaped my values and who I am now.
I’ve had a fantastic career. Not because I was paid well or was lucky, but because I was continually challenged, learnt a lot, made mistakes and met some amazing people. Leaving the corporate arena and starting my own business was the final step to finding my true place in the world. It was tough getting going, but I’m exactly where I want to be and serving the people I’d most like to help – business owners and entrepreneurs like you.
Why I Choose to Work with You
I bring a lot of experience to the table as a business owner, leader and human being with similar work/life challenges to you. I’ve managed teams of people under difficult circumstances. I’ve faced adversity. I have walked in your shoes and I have an uncanny ability to always see the most positive outcomes, to come up with creative solutions and to see problems coming before they arise. I want to share my skills and experience with the service provider business owners of the world. It’s not a job – it’s my calling. It’s what I’m meant to do. It is my privilege and joy to help you become all that you can be in your career, business and personal life.
My Values, Beliefs and Philosophy
I believe it’s our right and responsibility to live life to its fullest potential. It drives me nuts when I see countless people simply living out their lives, having settled on something less or permanently abandoned their goals and aspirations. We just need a bit of support now and then to find the way and develop the behaviours and mindset that will not only make us successful, but will bring more pride and pleasure to our lives. It’s my mission to help as many people as I can to take control of their careers and create the lifestyle they truly desire. You don’t have to give up who you are to become someone else, but you do have to be prepared to make some changes and above all take action. Your business and career growth can come to you easier and sooner than you imagine.
Education, Associations and Credentials
I attended and was certified as a professional coach by The Coaching Academy – the largest and most prestigious coach training organisation in the world. I’m a qualified teacher and have been developing people in one form or another for 22 years. I’m also a qualified practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming and Associate of the Association of Neuro Linguistic Programming. I hold a number of other certifications and qualifications.
My Life at Home
I live and work in Basildon in Essex with my soul mate and wife Julie, youngest son Craig and two dogs. Peter, my eldest son is studying Computer Science at the University of Derby and regularly crops in some person’s Facebook page or another with some funny story or caption. I love reading, learning and spending time with the dogs – a Basset Hound named Max and a Miniature Dachshund (sausage dog) called Milly.
